I’ve actually been thinking about pen pals-remember them? I used to have one in Glasgow when I was 8th grade–about a billion years ago–and I loved it. Does anyone still write letters that you actually put a stamp on? I love mail-cards, letters-make me smile just writing about it–I love writing-forming words that represent my thoughts and sometimes it’s good therapy for me. I discover something about myself that I haven’t been able to bring up to the surface. My grandpa used to write me and he would draw little scenes on the margins..I believe I still have some stashed away on the top shelf of my closet. He was the one that helped me fall in love with letter writing. I adored him.
Pen pals!!! Yes! Who doesn’t love good mail! I had a pen pal in middle school/junior high, good memories of that! Can someone organize this? I want in!
There are pen pal websites today. I cannot vouch for any personally. However, I know of several people who have become phone- or pen pals (on snail mail) through this blog. They are women who have responded to each other’s comments and have asked, through me, for permission to receive each other’s email addresses. In those cases, I have served as MiddleChick and reached out to each one in the pair for permission. I’m always willing to facilitate in this way.
I want a pen pal
I would LOVE a penpal too! I love exotic stationary and pens and this would be a great opportunity to use them to write letters.
I loved having pen pals! I had one in France and one in Germany, and also several in different states with I was growing up. It was a great part of my childhood! I would enjoy having one now 😃
