I am a baby boomer and remember all the negative labels attached to us and all the following generations. It appears every generation creates grumbles. My grandson is 11 and he too is on his phone, more so since the pandemic had shut down his school and outdoor activities, but he still enjoys our talks, walks, board games, cards, popcorn and a Netflix movie. Phones have become this generation’s form of communication and entertainment, especially during the ongoing pandemic. We are now a world of technology and this generation is learning that technology. My grandson is my go-to if there is a problem with my phone or computer.
I walk through the malls and still see teens talking and laughing together or hear kids laughter during recess or at the park. Companionship is a constant no matter the generation. Eventually this generation will reach adulthood, as we all did, and their phone time will be replaced by jobs and families.
