I had more personal drama, arranging for emergency flights home for my granddaughter in Israel that took my mind off the events in this country. It called for all my negotiation skills… I was successful in each drama, but the first plane
got cancelled, and I had to start all over. We never know when our experience, gained over the decades is going to be needed. She was not in danger there, but her Seminary was forced to close because it could not adapt to new restrictions on a school not being able to have less than 10 students in one space. I don’t know how I managed to bring it off, but I doubt anyone else in my family could have gotten her in a chartered plane, starting from scratch, and having to get funds to this new travel agency so quickly. Never sell yourself short, ElderChicks; we have a lot going for us. My granddaughter was so relieved. And, so was I.

Good for you, I am not surprised as one grandmother to another I know we can do anything for our children and grandchildren!! Best regards and stay well. Syd
Good story about using your life know-how to get your granddaughter home. We can do so much more than we sometimes realize.
Sounds like we are so alike in our willingness and determination to go to the ends of the earth for our grands. Congrats, you did it. God bless us all during this time. It is truly a walk of faith.
“indomitable” is the word that leaps to mind, Carol. You remind us of how resourceful the combination of life experience and grandmotherly instinct can be. So glad your granddaughter is home.
We “oldie goldies” are pretty damned smart.
