I loved this post!!! As I continue on this journey through my 8th decade, one of the most frustrating things is the way my physical energy level seems to fizzle before my mental energy. Why did I not ever think about doing things in small ways? I’m sure I can exercise for a couple minutes, even if it’s just walking around my apartment. I can write one letter, stuff it in an envelope and walk it to the mail box…lot’s of ways to implement these ideas.
Why didn’t I think of that? by Anonymous

“Why didn’t I think of that”…so true about the “mental energy”. Frequently I awake in the early morning thinking of the good I could do. Then before mid-morning all that energy didn’t get into the “doing of the things”. By afternoon it’s nap time, I thought this year maybe instead of thinking of the creative ideas, just do them. One never knows what good can come in 2020.
I am another with 7 decades behind me. My energy is getting low also but I have been meditating since the 60’s. Once you get the hang of it you can recline into your chair, lie down or while walking around the apartment. When ever I can I will sit in my car just to get some sunshine on my face. Relaxing while being aware of your breath is a power tool, energy will rise again for awhile and that is when I do more than normal….At this age life needs to slow down for all the running around we did when we were younger.
Love this, Lyndi. Your “energy adjustment” is what we all need, I believe. And so is the accompanying feeling of calm.
