When I moved three years ago, I dropped my landline and am now totally cellular. I use e-mail less and less for regular types of communication — it’s typically professional communication via email, where attachments (invoices, statements, etc.) are necesssary. Otherwise, it’s text message, Facebook, and Messenger. My mother, too, dropped her landline and uses cell phone and e-mail, primarily, though she has set up a FB account.
No More Landline by Lori

I still have a land line and it works just fine.
Lori, my story is identical to yours. I moved three years ago, soon gave up my landline, and now spend most of my online time on my iPhone. So handy! From reading newspapers to ordering books and clothes to texting to connecting on FB, I can do all from the comfort of my favorite chair. Lois Roelofs
Land lines appear to be on the way out, though not yet for me. BTW You look familiar! I think at a bar in New Jersey, perhaps. . . . .
Ha ha! Not NJ; based in Chicago, live in the SW suburbs.
I have kept my landline only because of the dependability. I have to admit I am considering giving it up.
