I take umbrage at your statement of staying neutral to share ideas and experiences. Neutral is nothing, blank, bland, without color. What do you share or learn from nothing? It is those very politically incorrect thoughts that get us thinking, questioning. Even discovering. As difficult as it may be for some to realize, human beings come in all sizes, shapes, colors, religions, and sexual preferences. Why some even like their hamburgers rare! Dare we mention any of these topics and all hell breaks loose. Watch WordPress delete my words with the excuse it might offend some, and then preface with “for the good of all.” That small sentence is the biggest mind control of the century. It takes away from you your personal identity and merges you with all, as in robotic. We buy it because it is laced with guilt. I am politically incorrect, a contrarian, with the nasty habit of thinking and the unmitigated gall of questioning. Don’t like it, avoid me.
Nothing personal just my opinion.
Bravo Elissa!!! When we stop having opinions and the right to express them, someone with a louder voice takes over. Controversy and an exchange of ideas is healthy in a society if expressed in a civilized manner. We don’t always agree but we have to respect the right to disagree.
Love it. Are you running for anything I could vote for?
IN A WAY. SINCE I DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE MY VOTE AND THE PICKENS ARE POOR I DO A WRITE IN. I VOTE FOR MY SON’S DOG. A ROTTIE OF 150 LBS, SWEET, HONEST, DIRECT AND ALWAYS WITH THE FAMILY ‘S INTERESTS IN MIND. THE QUALITIES I LOOK FOR IN A CANIDATE. HIS NAME IS “THOR”. I’M SURE HE WOULD BE PLEASED IF YOU CHOSE HIM AS YOUR WRITE-IN VOTE.
I’ve written in a variety of my neighbors when candidates I am really displeased with run unopposed. However, I do not want to waste my vote this year and Donald Trump scares the heck out of me. Thus, I will mark my ballot for the best chance to keep him away from the so called button. In this case, no vote is a vote for disaster. Since I live in Kansas, I can attest to that truism.
Hear! Hear!
For me, neutrality is to remain unbiased and nonjudgmental; to view all perspectives and to give respect to all opinions. Sure, some use neutrality to hide from controversy not admitting they have strong feelings about an issue. Thank goodness were all not the same, and I’m glad for outspoken people who reveal injustices, fight for what’s right, and toss politically correctness to the curb.

Thank you, Polly!
My thoughts exactly…I’m mature enough to listen to differing opinions of issues,if the same courtesy applies to me. We all might learn to live together better.
Glad there to hear your words of agreement! Thank you.
ElderChicks has never been in favor of neutrality. And certainly we have –and encourage– strong opinions on everything. Our policy on this blog is to refrain from discussing religion or politics. We know that here are plenty of arenas for discussing those two issues. We also know that there is no shortage of other important issues to be discussed. As always, we thank you for sharing your thoughts and comments with our community.
