The house I bought on the net is now my abode, lock, stock and stuff. Wasn’t easy, sometimes overwhelming, and just plain exhausting. Would I recommend buying a house on the net? Not really unless you have an iron stomach, the mindset of a tiger after its prey, and three buckets of perseverance.
What I’m writing about today is the many wonderful women who shared their unfulfilled dreams with me. I feel honored and humble that I was able to connect with you. To each of you that took the time to write me, thank you from the bottom of my heart, but the praise you heaped on me is unwarranted and I do not deserve it! I am an old bat that wants what she wants when she wants! My only claim to fame is I trod where angels fear to tread. That doesn’t make me special, just stupid sometimes.
If a dream you have lingers on, check it out, measure the pitfalls, and you still want it, then go all out. Even if it doesn’t come to pass you know you gave it your very best shot and that is success in itself. The end of my story is … the bank and I own a lovely house.
Elissa! Thank you for the update. You continue to inspire. Long may you wave!
Congratulations on the successful move. It’s on to a new adventure for you! Betty
Update on my Update
It has been a whole year since I moved in, lock, stock, and stuff. Getting here was an adventure. Unpacking was an ordeal, but I’m glad I brought sooo much with me. It really looks like a complete home now. My neighbors are wonderful, my real estate lady has become my buddy, so many new and great friends. I am amazed that a ‘Yorker, that’s me, has settled into a southern climate with such ease. About the only difference is the accent! I have found the same services here as I had before. Took a bit of hunting but my life is ordered on the ‘net and delivered to my door with a smile. Can you believe I have ordered a complete front yard land scape including a 5 ft. Dogwood tree off the ‘net and had delivered to my front door? Even that surprised me. I found a very talented young man who has become my ‘honey-do’. He hangs my pictures, (many pictures), draperies, planted my azaleas and tree and put together my grill, custom made my shutters, and put up a railing on the porch.. This move was the smartest thing I have ever done. If you are contemplating this type of move I highly reccommend it. Bring with you all that you hold dear. Slap a smile on your puss and mush on! If per chance you get to N. Carolina, my door is always opened. You will know the house by the azaleas and dogwood tree out front.
