I have read examples of the medicinal uses of cannabis oil for seizures. I feel that if it is used in treatment, it should be available for patients. I am not convinced it should be legalized for recreational use. Adults of the younger generations of today seem to be much more self indulgent than the past. If they are allowed to use marijuana legally I don’t think they have enough self discipline to use it helpfully. I may be prejudiced by my resentment of strict controls on pain medication. As I age, doctors and the federal government seem very worried about seniors being over medicated and/or addicted to medications that I feel help my quality of life. I am not convinced that the relief cannabis brings would not be addictive. Do we want a society of impaired adults in everyday life? I don’t.
I’m For Medical Marijuana by Robin

I think medical marijuana should be legalized nationwide, regulated, and taxed. To me, it’s ridiculous that it’s legal in only half the states when people can legally drink themselves to death or snort a can of Drano, for that matter. There will always be people who over-medicate themselves, whether it’s with pills, alcohol, or weed. I personally think alcoholism has caused far more societal problems than marijuana ever has.
Lindsey: I agree with your comments 100%. In addition, I know of many families with children who experience as many as 10 seizures a day. Several of these children have shown miraculous results using marijuana. A year ago we had 3 families from our city give up their jobs and sell their homes to move to a state where their child could receive help for their seizures. If you have ever seen a child having a seizure, and afterward pleading to “please make them stop” as I have, you would not hesitate to prescribe marijuana for them. I have also worked with children with cancer who have gotten relief from severe nausea and vomiting by using marijuana. Medical marijuana should definitely be legalized nationwide.
