I’m wondering if I qualify to be an ElderChick. Is there a minimum age requirement? I believe I became a senior when I hit 55, or at least I was old enough for a few discounts. But at what age do I cross the threshold from senior to elder? Is there a threshold?

Wendy- It seems to me that being a senior or an elder is a state of mind. There is no set age as there is with Medicare, because we are all different. We can set our own boundaries or thresholds and decide how to define our lives based on what we do with each day.

So I want to play along with you, and ask you, “How much over 55 are you Wendy?”
Then I can decide If I am a senior or elder also..

Phyllis,
I just read your reply to Wendy, and you just expressed how I really feel also. I just was not able to express it, other than to say, I am proud of just where I am.

Wendy, I echo Phyllis’s wise response to you. You’ll find women (and occasionally men) here who share wisdom, ideas, concerns, and become friends and role models for each other. They range from younger than you are now to much, much older. Take a trip through the EC Archive! And through the ElderExperts section. We’ve learned a lot and are still doing it!
