Hi Ladies. I am new to your fabulous website. I have found you just in time. I have been a widow for 2 years. I’m 66 years young. I have been struggling with re-inventing my single self and what I want to do. You have re-enforced my decision to keep on working (teacher, curriculum specialist) until I no longer want to. I love my children and grandchildren but I am marching on to find more “elderchicks” to consort with. I will check back often.

Carol,
I am 73 years young and still working also, although part-time.
It’s great to still use one’s working skills, yet have time to do
other things. I am a librarian at a public library, coordinate the
Seniors group, the Elderberries, and get to meet lots of interesting people
from the neighborhood.
I love the Eleanor Roosevelt quote:”Happiness isn’t a goal, it’s a byproduct.” Working at jobs and for causes that help others seems to broaden our own horizons and continuously open new opportunities and insights. Carol, you’ll find lots of interesting ideas and role models here where we learn from each other. Do browse through the archive and stay in touch. You’re so welcome at Elderchicks!
I am also a new widow. and I know I must now construct a new reality. It will be helpful to hear from others. I’m 75 and active .
