I have found that enjoying NOW instead of looking at what I can’t do works for me. NOW includes volunteering as an usher for a variety of events, both musical and theater. Not only do I get to enjoy the offerings but you meet terrific people of all ages who are enjoying your interest…and you are helping your community arts.

This advice works for any age, I think. Thank you.
I have found that NOW is being able to adapt to Now……….the bad days as well as the good days.
When I was a teenager, my best friend’s uncle was an usher at the Shubert Theater in Philadelphia. He used to let us in the back door (free, of course). This was a paid job for him and he indulged his love of the theater while paying his rent. We never missed a show –and even got to go backstage which was always an adventure. When I told Rita Hayworth how much I adored her husband, Orson Welles, she told me he was “a street angel and a house devil”. Now how exciting was that!! I have to say I believe my love for the theater started then. There was no way I would have been able to see so many plays and musicals. Who could have afforded it?
