This year at age 68, in fact in just four days, I will be having surgery to remove excess skin from my 200 lb. weight loss. I am looking forward to more freedom of movement to enjoy my safari in Africa in October, my 50th high school reunion in July, and hiking in my beloved Big Horn mountains when I return home to Wyoming after spending the winter in AZ.
The year 2014 holds endless possibilities for me! I will be volunteering at our local hospital, working with a suicide prevention group, and working with a Child Advocacy group. I will also be working hard to get Democrats elected in the midterm elections and urge you all to do the same, so we can get this country moving again and provide opportunity, jobs, food, and housing to the less fortunate amount us! I will also be working to get common sense gun laws passed which include improved mental health services and background checks!
Wishing all you wonderful “elders” (and I use that term loosely) a marvelous and productive new year!!
I am out of breath enjoy yourself!
Claudia, I hope you keep us informed every step of the way. Heal fast and get going! I’m with you vicariously.
Good luck to you Claudia! I went on a safari in South Africa and it was one of the most thrilling events in my life. We were in open range rovers and had a wonderful guide and a tracker who had grown up right there in the bush. I would swear that he talked to the animals. As for the rest of your agenda, keep us posted! It sounds like a spectacular year ahead.
I wish you the best success with your recouperation from surgery and much pleasure with the results. All your projects could be mine too. My 50th anniversary from nurses’ traiining a few years ago was so rewarding in terms of connecting that we called it a spiritual retreat, I feel good just remembering it! Best of luck!
