Some 65 years ago my dietary requirements were very simple. Mom would serve me steak and potatoes every evening and I was content. However my diet and my mindset underwent a radical change. So-o-o-o 65 years ago after watching a film about animal cruelty I decided to become a vegetarian. I reasoned that although they give us such pleasure we retaliate with cruelty. I decided that I was not going to kill to eat and so this former “cannibal” quit cold turkey and has not eaten meat for 65 years. (I still do miss a hot dog).
A Case for Being a Vegetarian

I admire you for sticking with vegetarian eating for so long. I am just starting and keep craving meat and I wasn’t a big meat eater. Just keep telling myself it’s better for my health mentally and physically.
About twenty years ago, while in Toronto, my husband and I came across a vendor who sold vegetarian hot dogs with all the fixings including fried onions. We soon learned that these”dogs” we’re a staple of street fare in this progressive city. So if you are hankering for the best veggie dog around you need to fly north! Smart Dogs are not too bad…we’ve been eating them for thirty years!
