This is a tough one. I for one am saying to myself that I must be more active in things I believe passionately about. What first comes to mind is peace. I hate war and the war-like culture that we (the USA, but also the world) promote and nurture. I think if we had smarter, more dedicated statespeople for leaders, we could negotiate ourselves out of almost all if not all wars. There is always a better solution and I am tired of settling for sending our children out to get killed and disabled for life. Rarely for any good outcome other than increased strength of the military-industrial complex. So there is a group in my hometown that takes action to promote peace. I am going to join them and see what I can do.

One of the side effects of aging seems to be a clearer vision of what is important. Surely many of us value life, and especially the life of young people, more as we age. To actually act on this value is something else. Your determination to act is an example for others. Thank you for giving us something to think about.
