Retirement, for me, is the 3rd phase of life….the children are grown and on their own, someone else has my job and now…I can do anything I choose to do, at any time , on any day.
Reviewing my almost 30 years of retirement provides me with a sense of gratification and fulfillment. I am fortunate to be in a community of art, music, theatre, as well as opportunities to give back to others.
Though sometimes slowed down due to the aches and pains that are, for me, part of aging….I find that interacting with others by going to the meeting, the luncheon, the lecture, the fund-raiser, whatever, is so stimulating and invigorating that my physical discomfort magically disappears.
And, back home I can enjoy the warmth and sunshine as I relax on my chaise on the lanai!
Keep up all your fun activities and may the sun always shine on you.
I like all the cultural activities, and, as a shivering Midwesterner, I love the lanai part. Go for it.
