This has been a great summer for me in the books department. I read what I had on my list without regard to book group requirements. I would love to suggest the following:”Sacred Trash “by Peter Cole and Sacred Treasure of the Cairo Genizah, a story of the exploration of the Cairo Ganizah where writings hundreds of years old described life of the Jews of Cairo.
“Kosher Nation” by Sue Fishkoff. The hows and whys of superision of food products getting a seal of approval from Kosher observation.
“Yehuda Halevi” by Hillel Halkin discussion of the life and poetry of this 12th century poet philosopher.
“Major Pedigrew’s Last Stand” Helen Simonson an interesting story of a retired major and his small town and people in England.
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Hemingway’s first wife and their life together in Paris. Also “The Eichman Trial”by Deborah Lipstad.
I read several more but loved the ones I outlined.
Fabulous list! Lois Portnoff really knows her books! Thank you.
