This may sound trivial or over the top———but I have felt for some time that shopping in the winter, with heavy coats to deal with, is a burden. What a pleasure to be able to go into a store (like Macy’s) and check your coat. Macy’s would surely profit and so would the “elder chick” consumer. Sounds like a “win-win” to me.

Many years ago I remember my mother taking me shopping in John Wanamaker’s in Philadelphia and they actually provided lockers for customer use. Or you could even leave coats with a salesperson if you were a regular customer. In my childhood you didn’t have to worry about theft and could walk away from your possessions in a store and they would in all probability still be there when you came back. You can tell you have reached senior status when you reminisce about “the good old days”.
Sounds like Macy’s will reap benefits. Super idea. I hate to wear a coat while shopping. Perhaps you could also check packages that you purchase. It isn’t east to juggle them when you are looking at other things.

Live in Miami. You can go to Macy’s and never need a coat.
I think that’s a great idea for all big stores. where seniors shop!
