Volunteering. I have found in the past 25+ years since I retired that volunteering is a great way to interact with many people, of many ages. I have aactively volunteered in issues I was excited about…and you know what? You will meet others who share your interests. Over the years I havd volunteered in issues from health to music and the arts and have met some terrific people doing so. I strongly believe that if you don’t need to work you owe the community you hav chosen to live in, your energies.
I’m off to work at a Festival on the 4th of July.

Good for you! It’s so great to see ElderChicks taking a stand, volunteering to teach, work in hospitals, being politically active.
Good for you!!!! I hope you have many more years of volunteerism!
Betty, you are terrific and what an example. Herbie too.
I was recently speaking to someone who is in her highish 80’s, who has spent a lifetime doing heavy duty volunteering. She and her age peers are finding volunteer opportunities hard to find because they no longer drive, can’t walk very far, or have physical difficulties such as hearing and vision loss.
But they are willing and eager to continue to contribute to society by volunteering. Is there anyone out there who can suggest ways they can volunteer despite the challenges they are dealing with?
Hi Betty, your volunteer efforts are inspiring! I volunteer with Good Days from Chronic Disease Fund, and we could use more volunteers like you. http://www.gooddaysfromcdf.org/
Hello Betty and Herb! Right you are, I love to volunteer! Where are you now?
