Hi. My name is Joan Spector and I turned 80 last October. I have owned a public relations company in Miami since the late 50’s and am still actively involved as a writer for various advertising agencies. I write a blog called “Musings by Joan” that goes out on a fairly regular basis to an increasing number of people — not necessarily seniors –people that get it tend to send it on, so I’m not sure any more how many do read it these days.
Responses generally have to do with the subject matter for that particular blog. Depending on who the subject resonates with, that’s who I will hear from. I usually try to key the blog to something in the news or of general interest as it relates to my life. Most of them are funny, some more serious.Lately I’ve embarked on a “new career”, that of a professional tour guide at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens here in Miami, FL. I’ve been a volunteer guide at Vizcaya for some 8 years until a new administration came in and decided the guides, some 150 of us, should change to a totally stupid tour. There are now 20 active guides left doing that new tour and lo and behold, I am getting paid for doing what I love and was will to do for free!
I am blessed with good health, walk a couple of miles several days a week, am divorced and in a 15 year relationship with a wonderful significant other. I have a 58 year old daughter and a 31 year old married grandson. Thanks to a wonderful hairdresser and a great head of hair, I think I’m still looking pretty good for an elder chick. My blog address is www.musingsbyjoan.blogspot.com. Please take a look at it and let me know how I can get involved with your very interesting group.

What a coincidence!
What a network!
How great it is to be connected to such interesting women all over the country.
